Can I tell you something?

Spring has a way of revealing what was already happening underground.

Before the bloom, there is burial.
Before the color, there is cultivation.
Before the arrival, there is arrangement.

That feels like the right place to begin.

Conversations with JB was never meant to be commentary for commentary’s sake. It was meant to be a living record — a reflective editorial space for observing how ideas, people, places, and systems move from Xoncept to Actuality.

This inaugural publication serves as the official announcement of the CWJB Spring Edition, which will officially open on March 23, 2026, in the wake of the Spring Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere and in honor of Aries season. The 23rd of each month will remain the official release date of the monthly publication.

It is an introduction.
An invocation.
A first statement of intent.

Because if spring is a season of emergence, then this platform is about paying attention to what is emerging — in art, in business, in community, and in design.

There are many ways to document culture.

Some people document by reporting.
Some by archiving.
Some by photographing, interviewing, curating, designing, or building.

Conversations with JB exists to reflect.

To notice patterns.
To connect moments.
To name what is taking shape beneath the surface.

At its core, CWJB is an editorial platform about cultural development and creative becoming. It is where observation meets strategy. Where personal reflection meets public insight. Where the lived realities of artists, founders, organizers, spaces, and communities can be documented with care and considered with intention.

This is not only about what happened.

It is also about what it means.

And more importantly:

What it might become next.

The Spirit of the Platform

The spirit of this platform is shaped by a simple but expansive orientation:

These are not separate categories to me.

They are elemental forces.

Art is expression, imagination, and revelation.
Business is structure, value, and sustainability.
Community is grounding, relationship, and accountability.
Design is movement, clarity, and form.

Together, they create a framework for how I observe the world around me and how .XO approaches collaboration.

CWJB will live inside that intersection.

Some articles will center culture.
Some will center strategy.
Some will center place, people, systems, or atmosphere.

But all of them will ask some version of the same question:

What is being built here?

Spring as the Right Beginning

The timing is intentional.

The CWJB Spring Edition arrives in the wake of the Spring Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere, at the threshold where the season turns and spring is officially underway. That makes March 23 feel like the right editorial opening: not ahead of the season, but in step with it. It also aligns the publication with the energy of Aries — initiative, emergence, momentum, and forward movement.

Spring is not random.

Spring is ordered renewal.

Things return, but not exactly as they were.
Light lasts longer.
Movement changes.
Energy reorganizes itself.

That is part of why this inaugural publication belongs here.

This series begins in spring because spring mirrors the work itself: not performative visibility, not noise for the sake of momentum, but emergence with direction.

There are seasons where the work is internal — hidden, conceptual, unfinished. There are seasons where the work begins to take form in public. Spring marks that threshold between idea and embodiment, process and presentation, private development and public articulation.

That is where CWJB begins.

CWJB is local in attention but global in orientation.

It is interested in what is happening in Atlanta, yes — but also in how Atlanta connects to broader cultural, diasporic, and creative conversations. It is interested in what is immediate, but also what is aspirational. What is personal, but also what can scale.

That is part of the .XO lens.

What to Expect from the Spring Edition

The CWJB Spring Edition serves as the opening sequence for this editorial platform.

It will introduce the tone, concerns, and orientation of the series through reflections that engage:

• spatial and visual design,

• and the layered realities of building something meaningful in real time.

The inaugural publication makes the announcement.

This series is called Conversations with JB not because I have all the answers, but because I believe reflection can invite dialogue.

So the work here will not only speak.

It will listen.

It will observe with humility.
Interpret with intention.
